"Trauma compromises your ability to engage with others by replacing patterns of connection with patterns of protection." -Stephen Porges
Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow.
As EMDR Certified Therapist my practice focuses on helping adults recover from the distressing, often debilitating biopsychosocial sequelae of trauma exposure, whether it is a single event or chronic in nature as it is the case with complex PTSD. There is a wide range of symptomatology that results from trauma exposure, which is to say that it is not limited to PTSD; these include, but are not limited to, dissociative disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and addictions. I mostly practice such approaches as EMDR therapy, IFS, IFS-Informed EMDR, and attachment-, somatic-, and mindfulness-focused interventions to help people heal from trauma in a holistic, long-lasting manner.
Human beings have an intrinsic need to share compassionately with others, to understand them, and to be understood. We also have a need to understand ourselves. This is essential communication that is at the core of collaborating with others in a manner that we can enjoy and respect our differences and our similarities.
